Cindron Mech Review

This 55 ton fire weaponry based mecha can be purchased directly from the shop for 2500 Ferrite, 1500 Bioptics and 110 Niodes once you reach level 27 or if you want one earlier, it is an occasional prize drop you can snag from fighting Tory on Novum Dolorum.  It requires a minimum heavy piloting skill level of 10.  In place of arms are two flamethrowers and it gets around on a pair of reverse canted legs.  The Cindron originated as a practical application of Illyrian plasma research conducted on Novum Dolorum back in the 3100s.  It found early use by Hegemony military police during a troubled period on the Fourth cluster of Orion's Spur crushing insurrections but in modern day civilians find use of the mech too, since with a moderate amount of innovation and ingenuity it can also be used for mining and welding tasks.

Don't worry about the old rumors of Cindrons exploding.  Some of the earlier models were historically pushed into the market hurriedly without thorough safety inspections being conducted first back during the Fourth Cluster's revolt but in a modern Cindron and with proper pilot training your chances of spontaneously combusting during regular field use are quite small.*

The Cindron is a good test platform for trying out various fire type weapons and since those very often are prizes in KOTM matches, those of you with Cindrons will find them a handy workhorse to try them out with.

The lightest of the Heavy Weight Division mecha, a Cindron is good practice training for pilots to get used to before handling the larger Inferno Mech.  Also, as you upgrade it, the Cindron gets splash ability and increased fire bonus damage. The cockpit, chassis and shield expansions are a tad bit spartan (up until level 61 when the third bay becomes available you can only equip up to two cockpit slots and you get a third shield slot much later at level 76), but once you upgrade it to level 31 you've got a pretty decent four engine slots to work with to make sure your little spitfire of a mecha zips along clipping at a good rate while firebombing its targets.

*At Gothan Heavy Industries on Centauri where the majority of Cindron are presently manufactured, Governor Marius Lepidus personally oversees the safety testing of Cindron Mecha and will furnish explosion statistics on request to potential buyers as part of their quality assurance program.  He staunchly asserts that the chances of a Cindron pilot exploding through pilot error on an up to date model are acceptably minimal. On discovering a faulty batch Governor Marius will route down where in the chain of command competency fell, oftentimes translating to the factory assemblers or engineers responsible being held on trial or if the nature of the mecha's defect was particularly glaring, immediate execution.
