Equipment Wishlist Part 3 By Sean Wadey#356597

Equipment of the Meiji Shogunate

The Meji Shogunate is quite possibly more technologically advanced than the Illyrian Hegemony but limited resources and their caste based society limits where the highest tech is and how it is used. Nano-technology, artificial intelligence, robotics and cybernetics are all superior to those available anywhere else. Hermit-Engineers and Mecha-monks of the religious caste create custom built mecha for the highest levels of the Warrior caste. Others rely on the mass produced mecha of Alpha Corp (some of which was designed by the religious caste) and engineers that can reverse engineer technology better than they can in the Hegemony and often make it smaller and improve upon it in the process. But the Shogunate is very limited in resources, both pilots and material, making such technology very expensive. The pilots of the Shogunate rely on skill to strike where it is most efficient to and to avoid getting hit in the first place, speed, maneuverability and accuracy are of prime importance to them but they will not hide from the enemy. Nor is the warrior caste willing to surrender and considers capture a dishonor as such most mercenaries avoid fighting against them as much as possible. They have no problem with strategic and tactical withdrawals nor with using others less honorable to do things they themselves are not willing to dirty their honor accomplishing. Many mecha-monastaries have fighting forces that will defend their worlds from outsiders or fight alongside the warrior caste against outsiders. There are also the pilots of the yakuza (organized crime clans) and Kempeitai (Imperial secret police) whose concepts of honor are very, very different from the warrior castes and have absolutely no problem with using the latest in stealth technology or shooting someone in the back.

If these or my other ideas are introduced to the game I think it might be best to keep the Meji Shogunate and Niode Illyrian Hegemony equipment off the open market, this is the latest and best technology for a major faction after all. Make them only available by completing missions or clan raids that benefits the major faction the equipment is from or as a trophy for taking on that major faction. If a reputation system were introduced such missions availability might be affected by reputation, however all such missions would also effect the reputation for the major faction you are fighting for or against as well.

This Just In From Artemis Molly

Unknown to many pilots, there is a secret underground cartel of crystal-based weapons distributors that regulates the markets for all crystal weapons in the galaxy. The cartel determines how experienced a pilot must be to safely operate any new weapon released onto the market. They are concerned about safety as well as profit and their job is to ensure that a balance is maintained between these two priorities.

The cartel recently held a meeting regarding the crystal-based weapons available to mid-level pilots (levels 40-85) in an effort to examine the current standards and see if they are still effective and appropriate. They meet regularly to discuss such matters but this time, a significant decision was reached...

Due to very strong pilot performance, the cartel has decided to relax some of the current restrictions on crystal weapons available for those mid-level pilots! It has been determined that a number of the crystal weapons currently available can be safely operated by pilots a few levels lower than the previous standard. This is going to shake things up as many pilots get access to bigger and better weapons than ever before! Weapon makers would like to thank the many experienced pilots that generously and ruthlessly battle-tested these weapons - you tested them quite thoroughly. smile emoticon

On top of all that, the coalition ALSO decided that certain yet unreleased cutting-edge weapons that have been undergoing rigorous fine-tuning in the labs are ready to hit the market! This is also big news for more experienced pilots - get your mechs ready to wield some big new guns. The limits on the amount of high-end crystal weapons you can buy have recently been adjusted. The cartel didn't make a big to-do about it but the word is that the few rarer materials needed to build them got easier to obtain due to some renegotiated trade agreements.....

Winter's Grasp Weapon Review By Deborah Hudak #289133

Are you heading to the hot as hell sector near the central gateway sun? You'll want to grab as many ice weapons as possible and this week offers a new drop for pilots at least level 96. For 43 niodes and some resources you can purchase this 125 damage weapon. The 100 speed is typical for this element type so won't slow you down badly but won't help speed things up either. It'll cool things down however when you blast away with these new toys.

As you might expect, this Division 1 & 2 weapon packs a hefty punch. Add in 50% freeze and you'll stop anything in it's track half the time. When that's not working for you, 9 slow will keep your enemy at arm's length. You'll slow down and often stop your opponent regardless what mecha this weapon is placed on. It just keeps on getting better and you can purchase up to 45 so max out if you can.

Equipment Wishlist Part 2 By Sean Wadey# 356597

Equipment of the Society of Cogwerk Planets

The nature of the Cogwerk clans means that much that they produce is already available on the black, mercenary and free markets throughout the galaxy. There are some technologies however that they try to keep to themselves or are just too weird for others to maintain properly. Here is a glimpse of the mad science and steam punk that is the Society of Cogwerk Planets.

Orange Clockwork Computators has been making micro clockwork computers now for some time and although slightly slower than bioptic computers they do the job quite well. They are also immune to EMP or any electromagnetic field since the micro gears are all non-ferrous. Their recent line of Valencia home computators is all the rage and come in a variety of metal cases, so you can choose the one that best suits your décor. From the black of wrought iron, to the white of polished silver, and the varying shades achieved with copper, brass and bronze. The company was also heavily involved in Talbus Armaments manufacturing of the iMech as it was part of a cross brand advertising campaign which many people forgot about.

Flavor Text: The Power to do your worst, Orange Clockwork Computators Inc.

Hydrogen/Oxygen Fuel Cells are the most common power plant in Cogwerk mecha, followed by hydrogen fuel cool fusion reactors, and the power behind the modern steam age. Some pilots developed a trick where they could vent some of the exhaust steam from their engines to surround their mecha in a cloud that could diffuse lasers and mellow fire and plasma strikes. Unfortunately it works both ways and doesn’t work as efficiently in all environments, such as high or very low humidity, extreme cold or places with no atmosphere at all. However the idea caught on and the Vapor Screens were developed.

The Cogwerk Block Series of engines are all hydrogen fuel cells designed to operate in any environment and are the epitome of this design. They include vaporator collectors to contain the exhaust water and even pull more water from atmospheres. This water can be used by the mechas life support systems or broken back down to hydrogen and oxygen by electrical cracking. They also included dedicated repair microbots, these aren’t as efficient as the nano-technology of the Illyrian Hegemony or Meji Shogunate but more reliable as they are much less vulnerable to electromagnetic pulses and flux which is very important for a Cogwerk mecha. The speed of these engines is highly prized by the bandit, pirate, raider and smuggler clans of the Society of Cogwerk Planets.

Cogwerk science is mastering electromagnetic field technology. The metal cladding on their mecha bristling with electromagnetic regulators wreathed in a corona of static electrical discharges is not just for show. Although such displays can be quite disconcerting and intimidating they actually have a purpose. With proper regulation and control the electromagnetic field around a mecha can reduce damage from incoming weapons fire and even blast missiles and explosive projectiles out of the air before they can detonate their warhead properly. Such are the theories behind Cogwerk Shield technology such as their Ionized Hull Plating and Electro-static Fields. (Three platings, three fields and three vapor screens should provide similar protection to one of each of the Illyrian Hegemony niode scutums I previously recommended.)

Clarke Federation/Consolidated Mecha Export Technology. What is now the Clarke Federation was once part of the Illyrian Hegemony. The citizens there were never very happy with Illyrian rule and when they were cut off from the Hegemony by the Meji Shogunate during the Faction Wars in the early 3100’s they created their own independent faction.

This was possible because Consolidated Mecha’s headquarters and primary production facilities happened to be in the territory cut off. This put a lot of strength in a small area and the Shogunate was too busy fighting the Hegemony at the time to actually conquer the territory. By the time the Faction Wars settled down the Clarke Federation was well enough established and defended that they were too tough of a nut for the Hegemony or Shogunate to bother attacking, the losses would outweigh the gains.

That and the Clarke Federation was willing to trade with all the major factions. To help promote this neutrality Consolidated Mecha decided to promote an ancient idea and sell mecha specifically for export and sport combat which was becoming popular everywhere but especially in the gladiatorial arenas of the Hegemony. So they created a line of 12 mecha branded as the New Robot Combat League, several of the designs (Axe Bot and Trooper) even became popular with mercenaries and are available on the mercenary market. (My working names for the other 10 are: Sulfur, Collider, Artillery, Jumbotron, Man-at-arms, Hammerbot, Slasher, Fisticuffer, Ferrite Tornado, and Nightmare. Since you never released them I’m trying to decide if they are all light and medium mecha or if any of them are heavier as I play with ideas for possible stats.)

However while making these mecha they also created a cockpit computer system that seemed to work very well in the arenas. They expanded on the idea and created a line of cockpit computers of which the S.M.A.S.H. 8 is the best known:

Pre War Interview For Zeon With Steve Ross 162076 /Steve Nanning 333632

Ladies, gents, and wild ones; This is Steve Ross coming from behind the lines with an in depth interview with ZEON fighter Steve Nanning. Steve, how's things going dude?

Steve Nanning -They're going well!  Just about got the entire hanger cleaned up and polished; ready for the next Colony drop.

Steve Ross - Excellent. The colony drop has been emphasized in posts. Do you think you guys can deliver to the boast?

Steve Nanning - With our history and looking at the other clans in Div 4, I have to say (in all modesty) Yeah, I think we can deliver.

Steve Ross - This is going to be one to watch then. Nice to hear the confidence.
It's been something of a roller coaster re' divisions for ZEON recently. Div 3, okay performance, and now div 4. Do you see this as a come-down, or do you see it as something else you can fight with? Your views sir?

Steve Nanning - Well, I think last CW Zeon was fighting above our weight in Div 3; in spite of this, we pulled off a very respectable and hard won Silver.  We were borderline on Div 3/4 this time (I think), but tipped over into Div 4, where we're kind of at the top in terms of average level.  Combine that with the quality of our players and I think we have a *very* good chance of taking Gold this CW and possibly finding ourselves back in Div 3 next time.

Steve Ross - Really? Gold? There are some on the betting stakes that would say Black Company, or even Slaughterhouse 5 are in a better position. Certainly in respect of Slaughterhouse, they have seen what you can do and may be prepared. Your thoughts here. Where would the voters put the smart money? And please be honest.

Steve Nanning - Honestly, the smart money is on Zeon.  We took both Black Company and S5 last time and we've been improving across the board since then.  Make no mistake, S5 will be a tough opponent.

Steve Ross - Well, details may be disputed there as I don't believe ZEON have taken Black Company yet, but Big Joe may correct me on that. On a personal note; have you yourself made any significant mods to date?, obviously without giving too much away.

Steve Nanning - I checked, and need to make a correction; Zeon defeated the Black Watch in the last CW, not Black Company.  It's hard to keep track of all the various AFF's running about. As for me, yes I've made some changes, most notably completing the development of a number of heavy mechs and getting them cycled in to my lineup.  I finally had to shift from my beloved Scriags in the front line to a set of Torrents.  I'll save the rest for the battlefield.

Steve Ross - Torrents are a growing mainstay of this Galaxy. It's tough to see how they will develop or find a mech to compete with them. Even the gargantuan Dino-mechs are finding it hard against them. I'm sure the oversight will be forgiven (and indeed proved either way this war). Do you think it is disappointing this war that you don't face either the AFF boys or the MMI crew? I'm certain some of your guys must be pee'd off at the lack of the familiar challenges?

Steve Nanning - Yeah, particularly the MMI folks.  One the other hand, when you face off against Independent clans (like Zeon) you start getting some history and familiarity with your opponents that gets a bit lost with the way the affiliated clans shift folks around.  It's a tradeoff. On the other hand...

Steve Ross - Good skills. Nice to hear confidence mixed with humility. It's a true brute when you have something unknown ahead. Anyone you particularly fear? Or is it business as usual in the ZEON camp?

Steve Nanning - Black Company is probably the biggest unknown.  Other than that, I'll just keep attacking and tuning.  Just hit level 84, so I need to go grab some Vadhers (sp?) while the weapons sale is still on.

Steve Ross - Happy days. I'm sure the inter-stella traders will be grateful for your monies.
Finally, do you really think the new 95 ton monsters will make a difference?

Steve Nanning - Interesting question.  I think it depends on how they match up against the Torrents; which has pretty much become the standard for a front-line Mech.
I must say, it *is* one of the nicest looking mechs to come along since the Sever.  This as opposed to the Torrent, which is butt-ugly, IMHO.

Steve Ross - lmao Steve,it's been a pleasure to speak with you sir. Good fortune. The battlefield awaits.

Steve Nanning - Cheers!

Hidden Loot By Kalevi Karvinen#863817

I was a warrior, not a particularly famous one, nor even good one, but I did manage to survive in this hard world. War was almost like old friend, familiar in it's tantrums, making teasing pranks and organizing wild parties. Sometimes it was dull, nothing to do but make up work, and then it hit you with shitload of stuff that needed to be done yesterday. I was a warrior. I was so tired.

Another war. Another raid. Another loot. Forerunners were crazy, but they got interesting stuff at their disposal. In particular, one pile of niodes got my attention. There was something strange on those. I bet technicians would have liked to study those, but for some reason I did keep them. I think that I did it mainly because one can always use some more niodes.

But I didn't use them. Not all anyway. Those that I did keep, was interesting gate address on them... or niode matrix as it should be called. And no, I didn't figure that out by myself. I got help, quite by accident. For some reason or another, I did meet fellow called Drake Novum something. Weird fellow, with lots of even stranger ideas.

Anyways, he did take an interest in those niodes as soon he saw them. Then he spent days in my apartment just poking them with weird looking devices. Every day or two, some delivery guy came and left something on my doorsteps. Always there were more weird devices. Or data chips. Even books or maps. Weird stuff... Specially when he needed my blood sample and did send it somewhere with that delivery guy.

I didn't mind, it was refreshing to be able observe something totally different than weapon drills or something similar. You know, not soldier stuff.

So, when he announced that he figured it out, I was kinda disappointed. But on the other hand, we got something new to do. Exploration trip. Secret exploration trip. With all sneaking that I could muster, we took my mechs, equipped them with stuff needed for the long trip. Gates can be really nasty sometimes. If we are really unlucky, we could end spending months at thein other end before we can return home. And if we told anyone where to look for us, it wouldn't be secret any more.

For a nerd type, Drake was awfully familiar with mechs? Didn't think much about it, I really don't spend time with civilians, so I really don't know what they normally can or can not do. Specially weird ones like this fellow.

But that helped a lot, we get on the road little faster. And a training trip is more believable if there is someone to practice with.

Gate to one training area, short trip to remote gate and thru another gate. Little longer march and another gate. Yep, paranoid spy stuff, but there could be loot to find. And reputation to lose, if we were wrong. So, after dozen or so gates, I was pretty sure that we were safe. Our goal was some unknown gate, which Drake found accidentally on some of those maps he studied in my place.

Gates that are in caves are really rare, I haven't even heard one like that, and we soldiers have traveled thru lots of gates, and talked about our trips. That gate alone could be worth of this trip, one can get a pretty good pile of niodes if you find a useful gate.

How awfully detailed that map was, it guided us directly where we wanted to go. We did find fair-sized tunnel, that opened in the huge cave after we marched short while in it. The warrior in me did speculate, how useful cave like this could be. There were spaces to hide scores of mechs, and if there really is a gate inside here, this could be the stronghold to dream about. Easy to defend, with unstoppable escape route. Pirates would love this place.

Multiple energy sources, all around us. Targeting warnings went wild, they were armed and we were targets. Unknown gate my ass, of course someone would use a sweet place like this. And defend it. My reflexes are speedy enough, so my weapons were hot and I was targeting before I was halfway with that thought ... Except that I wasn't...

No targeting signal? No weapons response? No nothing? And now not even movement... But no enemy fire neither? Yep, I am slow sometimes, and no thinker by all means, but this was a trap. Drake!

He had me good. He came to me because of the rumor of niodes. Didn't erase me because there was chance of some future use of me, and I did provide him a nice hiding place. Something like, a vacation he did describe it as. And this was his hideout. Or something like that. Clone depot sounded really odd? Around us were his troops. Bodyguards for our trip. Or my funeral.

And my mechs. They were wired. Drake could shut down them at any time... or release if needed. Last days of his "study" was to let his guys to do this little preparation. So, there I was, to be in the future a really wealthy person, judging form all this interest, or a really dead loser. Not much choice to make. Bad or worse, I was neck deep in this, and I managed to make them to believe me. Or at least Drake pretended to believe me.

Expedition group turned out to be more like little invading army. First I did think that those were to guard me. Didn't go down that road for long, that idiot wouldn't survive as long as I had, so there should be something potentially nasty awaiting us. And I have no usable weapons. This started to look like a not so good idea, but still it was little better than having to die right now.

So off we go, thru to the last gate.

 (maybe to be continued...)

Post Round 1 Interview For Zeon By Steve Ross#162076 And David Guipre#45052

Steve Ross - Ladies and gents, mecha fans of all ages; We're here at the officers bar, ZEON head-quarters for a post-first round chat with one of their main-stay commanders David Guipre. Dave, how's it going sir?

David Guipre - Going good, whooping the competitors to our name.

Steve Ross - Indeed. The first round seemed a bit one sided judging by the final scores. If I'm not mistaken it would appear ZEON were the only clan across the divisions to break the triple century. Did you expect such a landslide victory?

David Guipre - I expected a win but that was shocking. Zeon really came together and fought well and smart. It's the quality were very proud of.

Steve Ross - I totally agree. It was a blazing performance and only serves to bolster the faith the fans have placed in ZEON with their betting results. Seems ZEON are still pulling high support re' punter's wagers. Are you having a flutter on the results yourself, and in your opinion do you predict any surprises in the leaderboards this CW?

David Guipre - Well, I'm confident in Zeons' standing. The rest I'll pat attention to when we make them retreat. It seems a far as betting on the results is concerned, well lets just say the lady in my life doesn't enjoy me risking money lol.

Steve Ross - lol I can attest to that sentiment my friend. Now, the last outing saw a few more specialist slots available. It seems to be a telling tale from the first round scores that fewer specialist positions can change the lay of the land quite significantly. How do you find the spec cat mechanic as far as the need for adjustment goes, and does it cause any poignant need for trial and test with regards to yourself and the ZEON family?

David Guipre - In Zeon we have been doubling down on the expectation of more specializations coming. We work alot together on the various classes that are known and have been talking about what could be around the corner. As it stands now I'm happy with it and hope it doesn't go too outside the box, but id it does we will be ready. We always prepare.

Steve Ross - Amen. I always say "If you can't think outside the box, just use a bigger box".
The specialists are really an extension of KotM parameters in reality but it's always fun to see what the enemy throws your way. On the subject of KotM's, how do you feel about the recent hike in the XP awards per div placing? It seems to be causing something of a mixed opinion among the regular tourney scrappers. Your views sir?

David Guipre - Its' murderous in my opinion, people will intentionally do even more avoiding of the top 10. At the same time it makes it harder to camp which in my opinion is a good thing. I just wish there was a happy medium. Which I thought we were closer too before the changes.

Steve Ross - A fair view of the circumstance Dave. Well said. Returning to the matter of the current clan war; Many of the die hard wreckage junkies will be somewhat deflated to see a void in div 4 that should perhaps house the old favorite rivals of either MMI or AFF. How is the feeling in the ZEON camp on this matter? A bit lack-luster in respect of heavy competition, or are you guys taking nothing for granted with the possible foes for the rounds?

David Guipre - Well to be honest, I think all of us want MMI or AFF , to be around they seemed to disappear. But we've to becareful not to judge others lightly or we will deserve to lose. I imagine we will see them before long, Then we can disappear them ourselves.

Steve Ross - lol Confident to a fault Dave, as always. Well, a final question before we wrap this chat up; The beer, song and celebration of round one's landslide is fading to the tune of mechanics working fervently in preparation for the second outing. Knowing the names in your own list, and having not clashed with some of them, do you have any enemy you would be keen to go against next and, I hesitate to ask, what do you foresee for the round two outcome? Confident and geared up?

David Guipre - I honestly view them as soon to be gears on the ground. And confidence is the only way to enjoy the plunder, anything else would be boring. Thank you for the time and questions and Good luck to the newer clans coming up.

Steve Ross - Wonderful. Thank you Dave, and I shall see you in the bays for tomorrow's launch. My thanks sir for your time. Good hunting brother.

Interview With Deborah Roache-Hudak By Joel Parras/KilotoneRecoil #637457

Interview With Deborah Roache-Hudak Of The Brotherhood (NWHL)

Joel - Thanks for tuning in ladies & gentlemen Joel Parras here bringing you the insights from the backrooms where the lights never go out & the engines are always running on overtime! Please welcome with me here for this prewar spoiler Deborah Roache-Hudak #289133 of The Brotherhood (NWHL). I know you've been busy Deb thank you for making the time for us all.

Deborah - It's my pleasure, thanks for having me here as well.

Joel - Well as the time speedily approaches us all again Deb, I know we're all looking forward to another Clan Wars. Shortly divisions will be announced & we'll all have our targets locked. It'll be interesting this time with 3 specialists only I’m sure.

Deborah - The specialists have brought a breath of fresh air into the CWs far as I'm concerned. It's a KotM twist added in.

Joel - Yes I totally agree! A very renewing breath of fresh air at that & I’m sure most agree, it's always nice to keep things interesting & add a new dynamic or formation into the overall mix especially when it's applied to Clan Wars. I myself wonder what's around the corner these days!

I know your specialists formations aren't to be trifled with, it's been great to see some higher level battles for Clan Wars, but you know I enjoy watching from all divisions. I think last Clan Wars in the betting there where quite a few upsets, I hope this January brings just as many good show downs. I don't suppose you want to make any predictions if I’m so lucky to get a hint?

Deborah - I've not made a killing on the bets but I'll keep trying. So many factors come into play, who doesn't show, who's upgraded or is going with a specialist, really does keep things interesting.

Joel - Yeah I love the random factor of betting, but I digress lately my bets have come up short too sadly but it's fantastic to be surprised! Last Clan Wars with so many specialists it was open season for one & all in many cases. It's great to watch lower divisions bring their A game to the field & win the day. Always brings a smile to me personally even when it costs me a bet or two!

There's a lot of new gear that's been coming out lately that also adds a similar aspect to those of us in higher divisions which I think is great too. Even the new Light Bringer shield opens up some new avenues. Do you think there's any one particular piece of equipment that you’re partial to currently?

Deborah - There are few nice choices at my level and I must agree, the Light Bringer is a wonderful addition to the mix. When I first joined a CW it was May 2013 and I had leveled up enough to be accepted into The Brotherhood. Black Watch was lead by Tracy Wilson who's no longer with us and we took Silver. There was no equipment, levels had just broken triple digit (not by me yet) and so much more. Each month we get new peeks into the ever growing game and world of Mecha Galaxy.

Joel - It would have been nice to have been able to get to know Tracy but it was before my time unfortunately. That's very true in a time before equipment & triple digit levels things where very different to the way they are now, it's great to have new learning curves thrown at us to be mastered. I've seen many players over the last year go from strength to strength.

I can't help but wonder what the next peek will bring us a view of & I know I’m not the only one keen to know! Well with prizes announced now we only have divisions to be locked. I know there are more surprises to come & I see an all new niode Mecha will be gracing us shortly! It's sure to be another fun filled Clan Wars for all.

I should let you get back to command Deb before someone wonders where you went. Thank you so much for making the time for us so close to the departure window! Is there any last bit of advice you'd care to offer the players for this Clan Wars?

Deborah - Look out for your brothers. When we all do, it's so much easier. Working together toward a common goal pulls us together, win or lose we go in strong as possible. Appreciate the opportunity to chat and look forward to seeing how this new mecha runs. At the rate it takes me to slow upgrade to my level, don't expect to take it out for a spin until spring time. The violent winters we've been having lately wouldn't serve the paint job well anyhow so I'll keep it under cover and polished up until ready. Thanks again! Look forward to seeing you in the battlefields. Until then, I bid you safe travels and successful battles.

Joel - It's always best to keep my eyes open & on as many targets as I can acquire. Reaching the goals together is the only goal for sure! I can't wait to see how the new mecha handles myself if I'm lucky enough!
Thanks again for your time Deb I’ll see you out there with flags held high! Thank you. Good luck & good hunting yourself!

Well there you have it ladies & gentlemen words from the wise. Albeit just prior to the countdown to locking & dropping by the sounds of things.

Joel Parras, wishing you all safe launches yourselves as we all prepare for war! Thanks for tuning in! Good morning & good night everyone, whatever sphere you're stationed on!

Interview With Arthur Bruce By Joel Parras/KilotoneRecoil #637457

Interview With Arthur Bruce Of Clan Brotherhood Of The North

Joel - Great to have you all here with me again! I'd like you all to warmly welcome to the comm's Arthur Bruce #221951 of The Brotherhood of the North who's been kind enough to spare me some time & an ear.

Welcome Arthur it's great to have you here, as my former Clan Leader it's an honor! May I ask, if I may be so brazen, is there anything you miss from the good old days? & what do you find most enjoyable with your recent battles in Division 1?

Arthur - Damn Joel I just realized how long we have been involved in these battles ...and we still come back for more.

Joel - That we do Arthur! There's always another challenge ahead & another can of behinds to be whipped. For the love of our brothers & sisters & the love of Mecha Galaxy we rise & rise again.

Arthur - What do I miss....hmm difficult one to answer, I do miss the chance element in the old days you were never quite certain that a sure thing was actual in the bag. Now seems to be you can guarantee who you can beat and who will wipe the floor with you......however saying that there is always that one dark horse that surprises you.

Joel - Yes that's very true! It's always a surprise every Clan Wars to see some really odd battles but it seems these days nothing is ever for certain. There's nothing like a nice x2 x3 wide fork shot with trample attached to ruin anyone's day!
To be very blunt with you Joel I am not finding the actual battles in Div 1 that enjoyable at the moment as I am once again the lowest player again (we have all been there ...I do enjoy however developing my mechs and clawing my way up the ranks again.....looking for that killer mix of equipment and weapons that will give me that edge

Arthur - But if I can say one thing here

Joel - Sure Arthur, feel free to speak freely, I wouldn't want my interviews any other way!

Arthur - There is a distinct lack of comradeship in Div 1.....remember those wars in Division 3 in Black Watch where we used to whip the guys into shape? No double hits, full HG, check your shots etc.....perhaps those in Div 1 don't need those reminders....we are professionals perhaps.

Joel - I think as Division one conclusions can sometimes be seen even before divisions are set can be sad to see & can breed complacency for many. I do remember our solid work, never a hole left unfilled or an honor guard unchecked. I still carry the same motivation today, after all I had a shining example of professionalism!

Arthur - That's damn good of you too say - we made a damn good team - the Watch was a force to be reckoned with and that's no lie, you’re doing some good work there I see I hope you get the support you'll need to get gold again

Joel -Surely did & still do! Well this war I hope we can get our old school awesomeness back up & running. Santa wishes he made lists & checked them like we do ours!
I'm deep in invites as we speak & getting the band back together for The Brotherhood of the North for this Clan Wars!

Arthur - Great news!! Well I will be here and fighting .....going forward I'm embracing this specialization thing and will be fielding out (hopefully) a few surprises for our foes
Any other questions Joel?

Joel - Well there's one last thing. We all know there's nothing like being the small fish in the biggest pond. Do you think with all the new mechs out & all the new equipment available now there's a more competitive edge than before in higher divisions?

Arthur -Oh damn yes is more competitive - there are any number of players (thee and me included) have spent a huge amount of time and effort in developing their line up's to match the other teams. However we all fall back on 'buying' our successes - competitive yes but that needs to be measured in dollars rather than talent..........*sigh* that's the name of this particular game and those that stick with it accept and promote it by spending as we do.

Joel - When you hit these levels & you face our standard of opponent there is no debating or denying that. I find it funny when players argue over player strength when they're only in their first 20-40 levels & things are so simple for them considering! It just goes to show you doesn't it though, we hold our mecha's almost as high as we hold our own! There's no fighting what you love.

Arthur - I started my interest in the Mech world with the Battletech novels a long time ago - that developed into computer games and movies etc.......I have been following 'Mech's' for over 20years believe it or not ......this is a great successor that I still enjoy........I can’t step on real people with my 'highlander' but I can in this game LOL

Joel - I'm there with you to, but I was blessed enough to find myself in mecha pilot seat before I was double digits & never looked back either, Mecha Galaxy is like no other I’ve found. I will always be here, a part of the scenery, I hope I don't gather dust LOL!
Well Arthur thank you so much for your time & opinions, it's been a fantastic chance to catch up & I dearly hope we get to do much more of it soon in The Brotherhood of the North together again!

Arthur - Joel good talking with you - we will need to get back to the cockpit young warrior, as I hear the sounds of the approaching foe once more......

Joel - Good ears & eyes never miss a step or shot do they? Good luck & good hunting Arthur, I can't wait to join you on the field of battle again!

Drochah Moves On The Galaxy By Pat Willis#224534

Some may have noticed there are some new mission results happening now with Ignis coming out of nowhere, or Aspis mecha beginning to rise. These are the results of Drochah's time manipulation. It seems this egotistical Forerunner is pulling the fiercest warriors from the past, recruiting them to his cause and teaching them the finer points of mecha combat.

It seems that the "Flail of God" is actually a reference to Gengas Khan out of our history books, odd transmission interceptions seem to be quoting of all things Julius Ceaser in the Yomi Reefs. Speculations run rampant at this time but it would seem these ancient and terrible foes are being yanked from the past, turned to Dorachah's will, and set loose upon the galaxy. What does this mean for us mech pilots? Most likely we will be seeing some strange and fierce combat in raids to come, as well as possible new adversaries in missions if we are lucky enough to survive. Imagine Alexander the Great a military genius being in charge of a well armed mecha squadron? Or as mentioned above the great Khan himself set loose upon an unsuspecting galaxy? The outcome of such is nightmarish to say the least. So stay frosty, arm up, and kill anything that moves that doesn't have your own clan markings on it. The galaxy just became a much more dangerous place!

Galaxy Gossip January Edition By Deborah Roaché-Hudak #289133

Welcome back to the gossip spot. With Clan Wars on the horizon, rumors have it raids are planned once again. Which clan is being targeted is pure speculation but pipers success in previous wars proved worthy of imitating.

A recent sighting of Tory in the newest mecha prototype with Molly had the two whirling past the remote gateway and spotting the General Nakshi during their outing. The advancements being made with Forerunner technology is becoming apparent and we can expect more new releases. It's nice to see some fun being had by designers and their staff. Holograms of the party upon completion of the prototype are available through the Intergalactic Enquirer online.

Finally, in medical news, the newest interface implants should be ready before summer. Be sure to get on the list so you too can pilot the newest mechas as they are released. Acme has been working overtime in production so ample supplies are still available.

That's all the news that's unfit to print. We'll keep our eyes to the sky and on the look out for more juicy gossip. Until next time, I bid you safe travels and successful battles.

Fantasy Mecha Banjotron By Deborah Hudak #289133

Newest mecha on the market, this 95 ton beast will have your opponent crying for their mommy. If the stomp of your arrival doesn't put shivers down their back, the ice shots will. When fully upgraded, this newest release will have a 50/50 chance to stop your enemy in their tracks, freezing them in place. The crippling ice damage your impact makes will have their parts falling off before your very eyes. The added bonus of 25% splash will help spread the cheer.

You can breath a sigh of relief when you check out the speed it eventually picks up. Once going, it'll be hard to stop. With an initial 14 weapons to start, you'll love adding more as you level this one up. Watching all the bonuses max out is always fun too! The newest interface will keep all your systems linked for instant response. A wide variety of colors to choose from will ensure you'll find the one just right for you. You'll be glad you stocked up for the base expansion that's sure to come.

When you see how many cockpit, chassis, engine and shield slots you have access to, you'll be amazed there's still so much cockpit room available. After you fully load this BMF, you should do more damage than ever before. The smooth ride may deceive you, but you'll find quad engines humming in unison, allowing you to zip around the universe in style, feeling like you're in command of something more sporty and certainly not of this 95 ton caliber. Don't choke when you see how much resources it consumes to upgrade your new mecha, like the old Terra saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”

Waiting For A Fight By Kalevi Karvinen#863817

Banishment to the upper division was over, when unlimited KOTM came to its end. My ranking was 70. It's kind of hard to achieve anything when your resources won't permit you to fight, but at least I was not in last place this time. That alone is sort of victory in my opinion.

But no worries, time to get ready to the next event. Refresh page... wait for it... refresh... wait... refresh... wait... refresh... New! Join! First! Back to the sign up page, what are the restrictions this time.

3x Rainbow chrono. Quick click to the hangar, just to double-check my line. Yes, all good, it was as I remember it, no need to switch any mechs. A little adjustment to the weapons and I was confident to continue waiting.

That sounds kind of boring, and maybe it is that, but my fights in kotm are mostly waiting. I try to join early, then I wait for other players and check to see who and how strong they are. After that I try to figure if I have the opportunity to achieve something, or do I need retreat to a safe distance.

This round looked so promising, until representatives of RND joined. Close enough level and more tons in line. That could mean so damn hard a fight if he is after Nephilax too. Can't do anything about it, so started morning routines. Lottery, seed crystals, free upgrade and then home page to see if there is something new.

Mail? Sender's name sounded familiar, so I was little curious when opened it. "Good luck on your 3rd win dude...". That put smile in my face, a little worried smile, but a smile nonetheless. Clicked back to the event, and didn't find the sender there? What the... Back to the mail, sender profile, name, level and clan. Back to the event.

Ah, he was one division up, from Bacon Addicts II. Quick check to his trophies, and oh boy was I happy that he was not in my div, one monster is quite enough.

Well, sent him thanks and told him that I will at least try to win. Have to say, I was not so sure about that win, that RND was too close to any comfort. And sure enough, some time later I was knocked down. So it started...

Little waiting and I hit back. Oh damn, there was a lot of mechs. Attack again, and again. One more time. I did win at last (and level up). Panic upgrade to all mechs on line, and back to the waiting...

It felt it appropriate to send a message to the my main opponent. I said that I wholeheartedly hoped that he was somewhere else, but that I would try kick him down often enough so that I could get enough points. What I didn't mention, was that I got only limited xp that I could use in this fight before I must stop fighting and wait next kotm.

Soon came the response. Different words but the idea was same. Neither of us looked forward to the fight, xp gain could be overwhelming, but we had already started by leveling up, so no retreat anymore.

And fight we did. Slow cautious combat, with lots of waiting between hits. My hope was that because it was my morning, it could be his evening (or even better, night), so I waited as long as I dared before hitting, and then waited to see if he is online anymore. He was.

Change of plan. Hit second ladder and wait next point drop. Maybe he'll go sleep if he get those and then I hit again, and this close he don't get much ahead... One hour, no points. Half hour more, no points. Hell with it, fight, fight, win... and points came.

After that it was kinda anticlimax fight. I was nervous, checked event every hour, only to find out that nothing moved. Night came, and I did wake up couple of times to check the event. Nothing moved.

Next day, two more players emerge, they level like there is no tomorrow. Well, their level went up, but mechs not so much, so I kept an eye on them but was worried only RND. And counted points, when I would be safe. Middle of the last day of event was not a very conforting answer.

So I waited. And woke at night to check the situation. Only newcomers moved. I hoped that I could see if they tried to hit us. And how close they were to dropping  us...

Last day. Still first, RND second. Newcomers still below us. Point limit exceeded, now it would take some sort of miracle if I would lose anymore. But still I worried and waited, only this time not gold anymore, but could I actually get all points. I did calculate how many points is maximum in this event, then again how many I got and how many I had left to get... Outcome felt so unreal. All the points. For me. Never before, and I bet never again, I could be this lucky.

Last hour, still no movement. Oh joy! That agonizing wait, feeling that event won't ever end. One more minute. Then another. Until game reloads and you rush to the event archives to check your rank. At least I do that often. Only this time the game decided to tease me little more, ladder was empty. Reload. Still empty. Hangar! Loot is there, looks like I really did win! So sweet looking pictures of new weapons. Next inactive mechs list. Brand new Nephilax was there.

Sure, all this checking was kind of pointless, rationally there were no need to do those verifications but there is always that nagging feeling in my head... What if there is some problem in the game at that last critical second. But no, like always before, I worried for nothing. So back to the daily routine. Only that this time there were a couple extra visits to my hangar to upgrade my new toy, as I waited to new KOTM start again.
