Luison Mech Review

Yet again we are looking at one of the game's grand-daddies. The Luison, developed by Star Factories, is a staple mech of almost legendary status in the minds of the veteran pilots within the galaxy. It is an upper-light weight mech and, very much so, the baby brother to the much later developed Dilophos.

It will set you back a paltry 2100 ferrite, 1500 bioptics and 100 crystals. For what you are buying here you would lose more resources than that running for the bus. It really is a bargain. The Luison's bipedal design make it a piece of cake for any competent junior pilot to handle. According to lore this machine was originally designed for stealthy sorties, a HUGE emphasis being placed on 'quick in - strike - quicker out'. In the over-all scheme of mecha-galaxy this nippy little scrapper is the raptor of the lower level player. It might not be the hardest hitter of the pack, but hit you quickly it will, and when you turn to face your assailant it will treat you to the sight of a rapidly vanishing speck on the horizon.

The plus sides to the Luison: It's CHEAP for what you are buying. That's always a good thing when you're finding your feet in the game. It is a universal mech and has no specific weapon preference. Equip it well and you have a fast little gun boat that can field any weapon type. It has a nice amount of weapon slots for it's level too, giving you more shots per turn.

The minus sides?: Given it's weight class it sadly becomes out-dated very quickly. A couple of quick battles down the line and most fighters are loading their lines with the heavier hitting and more durable Oggun. Yes, it has more weapon slots than the Oggun, but it just can't take the punishment in a stand-off fight. Where the Ogg will serve you well far longer into your career, the Luison will fade to gray long before hand.
Conclusion: Buy some! Keep them leveled for practically chump-change, and, well after you leave the realms of 'accomplished rookie' they will be a bread and butter mech in lower tonnage events. Not great for long term service, but little killers in the appropriate weight class.
