Commander's Log-NWHL Clan Wars XXI By Deborah Roaché-Hudak #289133

Some days working with new recruits is like being back at the Academy. Problem is, I'm like the Principle here. You get sent to my office and you've either done something where praise will be coming or you've done something bad. Swift to act for both, I want no doubts where my men should stand.

This last 'legal' CWs was perhaps the most fun. Maybe the vets have become more seasoned, maybe my faith in them grew enough to relax. Not many remain from the frontier clearing days, when they pioneered this sector and planted our banner. Not sure the men can convince me it wasn't all about the rum but I'll let it slide. At least we didn't have Smurfs overrunning the place like the holidays. Damn near took all month to get everyone's mecha buffed from all those stains.

There's still a few adjustments to make but we're almost there. Months of planning and movement will soon tell how effective it's all been. The newest recruits have done well, their recent Gold medal hangs beside the others earned. The glint of silver here and there reminds us that our work is never done.

Raids have been successful and the new toys can be heard night and day. Next week I need to get on maintenance about the back-orders. It's crazy to have these guys risking their life and limb with inferior replacement parts. If Star Factory needs to raise prices to stay competitive, I wish they would just do it and be done already. It's impossible to get ahead when things break down all the time.

Post-raid party this weekend should be a blow out. We expect to enjoy the month and have some time to prepare for the next war. Wonder who will show up besides the cyber boys? Aff, time will tell soon enough.
