Mecha Review The Dreadnought By Robert Clay #726411

The Dreadnought is a heavy mecha designed for front line battle. If you have this mecha in your formation you will not be sorry. To purchase the Dreadnought from the manufacturer, it will cost 15,500 Ferrites, 12,500 Bioptics, and 140 Niodes. Not a bad price for such a powerful mecha. However, there is one catch; you have to be level 62 to purchase this gem.

It has been rumored that a few of these mechas have been given to lower level Mecha Warriors as an experiment to determine if they can be operated at those levels. The results have been very promising. One thing that was determined early on was that the minimum Pilot Skill level has to be 40 before the mecha can be operated. When a Pilot had lower skills the results were, well, bad. So the manufacturer set the Minimum Pilot Skill Limit to 40. Even then the Dreadnought will not function at peak efficiency. For peak efficiency the Pilot’s Skill Level should be at least 85.

When the Dreadnought arrives from the manufacturer it has certain capabilities. This is called the Level 1 or Build Capabilities.

Armor Strength 210 points

Weapons Bay for 10 Weapons

Can inflict an additional 8% of Projectile Damage

Can provide 10 points of Shielding

There is one drawback. The mechanics of the mecha causes a 25 point reduction to the recharge speed of the weapons. The manufacturer has been working diligently to solve this problem.

Each time the Dreadnought increases in level, an upgrade is shipped from the manufacturer. These upgrades give the mecha additional advantages, cockpit slots for additional crew, engine slots for additional power, weapon slots, chassis slots, and shield slots. As these upgrades are installed capabilities also improve. By level 8 the problem with weapon recharge speed is reduced by 4 points.

By the time the Dreadnought reaches level 40 the weapon recharge speed problem is reduced by 16 points, there are 20 Weapon slots, the Cockpit has room for a crew of 5, the Chassis has room to fit 3 pieces of equipment that can improve the ability of the mecha, there are 4 Engine slots for improved power, and there are 3 Shield slots for added protection. In addition, the capability of Projectile Damage has increased to 40%, the ability to dodge 8 points of damage has been added, Fire shielding of 25% and Ice shielding of 10% have been added.

As the Dreadnought upgrades through the levels to its max at level 110 it will pick more slots and increase in capabilities. The weapon recharge speed problem will be gone and the mecha will be aiding the recharge speed by 9 points. At level 50 Trample and Precision will be added.

The Dreadnought is a mecha that grows in power and capabilities along with you. You will not regret having this mecha in your formation.
