Pre War Interview For Zeon With Steve Ross 162076 /Steve Nanning 333632

Ladies, gents, and wild ones; This is Steve Ross coming from behind the lines with an in depth interview with ZEON fighter Steve Nanning. Steve, how's things going dude?

Steve Nanning -They're going well!  Just about got the entire hanger cleaned up and polished; ready for the next Colony drop.

Steve Ross - Excellent. The colony drop has been emphasized in posts. Do you think you guys can deliver to the boast?

Steve Nanning - With our history and looking at the other clans in Div 4, I have to say (in all modesty) Yeah, I think we can deliver.

Steve Ross - This is going to be one to watch then. Nice to hear the confidence.
It's been something of a roller coaster re' divisions for ZEON recently. Div 3, okay performance, and now div 4. Do you see this as a come-down, or do you see it as something else you can fight with? Your views sir?

Steve Nanning - Well, I think last CW Zeon was fighting above our weight in Div 3; in spite of this, we pulled off a very respectable and hard won Silver.  We were borderline on Div 3/4 this time (I think), but tipped over into Div 4, where we're kind of at the top in terms of average level.  Combine that with the quality of our players and I think we have a *very* good chance of taking Gold this CW and possibly finding ourselves back in Div 3 next time.

Steve Ross - Really? Gold? There are some on the betting stakes that would say Black Company, or even Slaughterhouse 5 are in a better position. Certainly in respect of Slaughterhouse, they have seen what you can do and may be prepared. Your thoughts here. Where would the voters put the smart money? And please be honest.

Steve Nanning - Honestly, the smart money is on Zeon.  We took both Black Company and S5 last time and we've been improving across the board since then.  Make no mistake, S5 will be a tough opponent.

Steve Ross - Well, details may be disputed there as I don't believe ZEON have taken Black Company yet, but Big Joe may correct me on that. On a personal note; have you yourself made any significant mods to date?, obviously without giving too much away.

Steve Nanning - I checked, and need to make a correction; Zeon defeated the Black Watch in the last CW, not Black Company.  It's hard to keep track of all the various AFF's running about. As for me, yes I've made some changes, most notably completing the development of a number of heavy mechs and getting them cycled in to my lineup.  I finally had to shift from my beloved Scriags in the front line to a set of Torrents.  I'll save the rest for the battlefield.

Steve Ross - Torrents are a growing mainstay of this Galaxy. It's tough to see how they will develop or find a mech to compete with them. Even the gargantuan Dino-mechs are finding it hard against them. I'm sure the oversight will be forgiven (and indeed proved either way this war). Do you think it is disappointing this war that you don't face either the AFF boys or the MMI crew? I'm certain some of your guys must be pee'd off at the lack of the familiar challenges?

Steve Nanning - Yeah, particularly the MMI folks.  One the other hand, when you face off against Independent clans (like Zeon) you start getting some history and familiarity with your opponents that gets a bit lost with the way the affiliated clans shift folks around.  It's a tradeoff. On the other hand...

Steve Ross - Good skills. Nice to hear confidence mixed with humility. It's a true brute when you have something unknown ahead. Anyone you particularly fear? Or is it business as usual in the ZEON camp?

Steve Nanning - Black Company is probably the biggest unknown.  Other than that, I'll just keep attacking and tuning.  Just hit level 84, so I need to go grab some Vadhers (sp?) while the weapons sale is still on.

Steve Ross - Happy days. I'm sure the inter-stella traders will be grateful for your monies.
Finally, do you really think the new 95 ton monsters will make a difference?

Steve Nanning - Interesting question.  I think it depends on how they match up against the Torrents; which has pretty much become the standard for a front-line Mech.
I must say, it *is* one of the nicest looking mechs to come along since the Sever.  This as opposed to the Torrent, which is butt-ugly, IMHO.

Steve Ross - lmao Steve,it's been a pleasure to speak with you sir. Good fortune. The battlefield awaits.

Steve Nanning - Cheers!
