Faction Time By Kenneth Hicks; ID: 896092

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Word on the grapevine is that we have a Faction War coming up this month!

Now, what this means to those of you that have only been playing for six months or so is that your clan will be looking for other clans to make one gigantic faction with. That means people who used to be your enemy are now sided with you against others you may or may not of fought before.

To the common player, that’s about the biggest deal that they deal with. Racking up major xp with tons of wins per round, Faction War Analytics tend to get redonkulous.

Now for the Leaders and Officers, here come the headaches and intrigue. Major deals made from shadowy areas. Rumors thrown around, sometimes to throw off the scent of what’s actually happening, sometimes spot on the money.

Oh, and the headaches. You ever notice how your Leaders get all grumpy three or so days before Clan Wars? Well take it times ten as they now have to deal with player placement based on level, and sometimes diva like attitudes. The moving and shaking in it’s own right is almost as fun to watch as the contests themselves.

So here, in the comments of this article, I’d like to see a few things. I’d like to see clans looking to join other clans, I’d like to see stories of past Faction Wars, and I’d like to see some opinions on what’s about to happen. Always remember, all stories, opinion pieces, and strategy breakdowns can be posted on the

Galaxy Gathering Page so as to put some niodes in your pockets and get your name known as a mover and a shaker!

Good Luck everyone!

Farewell My Friends By Pat Willis#224534

As many of you may already know I announced my retirement from the game last night. For those who didn't know, well there you go.

Why? Honestly a lot of real time commitments that I have to see to, and I was getting tired of the same old same old every month. War, raid, reset, repeat....etc, etc. We get a few new missions here and there, new mechas and equipment but nothing to really sink my teeth into or sate my thirst for gaming. But hey I've been at this for a little over three years, and had this site up for just over two of those three. So all in all I can call this a win, and a positive gaming experience in a world full of too many bad ones. Besides maybe some day I'll come back and see who is still around, or what is what.

I decided against taking the site down on my way out. No way I could justify throwing out over two years worth of both my own and others writings.  So now John Ringo will be running the show and seeing to things around here. He's pretty solid and I trust he'll do well here.

John if I have any advice to give on my way out is this.... Keep it mecha centric! Don't pull from other series/franchises for your ideas or illustrations if you can help it. I've tried long and hard to keep things in here based on and focused on mecha galaxy as the devs asked me to way back when I started this site. Stay the voice of the player, and remember you are a player as well so your opinion will count just as much. It's a fine line to walk but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine.

Unlike most who retire from the game I am not going to shove everything in the hanger and put my tonnage at zero. Nah, going to leave my Frigis Frozen Dream up as my only mecha standing in formation. I made Legendary pilot with that mecha and I still consider it one of my favorites to this day.

I think that's all I have to say, so thank you one and all for a truly unique gaming experience it was a blast and I wish you all happy hunting.

This is Pat Willis creator and last original editor for Galaxy Gathering signing off.

A Word From Sgt. Ron By Ron Frye#879655

An interesting suggestion was made in the player forums by William Morris. His suggestion is that clan leaders should have the option of posting a message at the top of the clan page in the clan tab.

This would give leaders the opportunity to put out important information to all clan members in game rather than on exterior face book pages, web sites, or the cumbersome method of messaging each and every member of their clan. I think this is a fabulous idea and I personally invite everyone reading this short article to comment below on their opinion of the matter.

*Editors note - Since the overhaul of the site comments are not the option they used to be. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We do invite you to submit your opinion to us on this or any other game related matter, we do of course pay niodes.

Help Wanted By Pat Willis#224534

Hello folks, seems as though I'll be having room on the editors schedule to add a person or two. You see David and Kenneth are currently on a hiatus, this leaves me being the only active posting member of G.G. As you can imagine even at our slowed down posting rate of late it's a bit much to juggle by one person. So I'm putting out a call for help.

If you're interested here's what I'm looking for, a person who can write up everything from pilot stories, news, reviews, etc. Participate in any round table conversations that pop up over in the editors group, be willing and able to edit any submissions that come in (lately there hasn't been many of those so it's mainly us writing.), as well as be willing to kick around any ideas for the site itself, well along with putting up with me anyways.

To be considered just drop off a couple paragraph submission over in our Galaxy Gathering Facebook submissions group, from there I'll have a look see, and will pass the candidates along to Artemis Molly, and Bella Tin Gray for final decision/cut. We submit names and ID#s weekly for any submissions that make it to the site, as well as pay our editors for their contributions to the site. So if you can write and like free niodes this is a hell of a way to make em.

The Brotherhood And Dragons Have Combined Forces By Pat Willis#224534

We had initially touched on this subject a couple of months back in a Galaxy Gossip piece titled, "Evolve or Die". Well it would seem that it is gossip/rumor no longer. I can report that it is a reality as of now. As a member of the Brotherhood I had the chance to see most of the inner workings behind this merger.

Brotherhood command took all of our thoughts, questions, doubts, and aspirations into account. They addressed what we asked them to, they saw to it that we would still be a cohesive group within a group. That we would be stationed together whenever possible, and that we would still retain much of our rich and legendary history.

For instance our clan number I.D. has been 323 as Northwind Highlanders of the Brotherhood. We maintained our clan I.D., opened Garhan station to members of the Dragons clan and became the Northwind Dragons. Neatly incorporating each other into our ranks and vice versa. Thus far the transition remains a smooth and uncomplicated one.

The Dragons understand they are dealing with a long lineage that dates back to the early days of Mecha Galaxy, and they respect that. They understand that the Brotherhood has its own reputation, as well as traditions, and they know such are important to Brotherhood members. As such they have treated this with the utmost respect and courtesy, not only to the clan at large but to each of us as individuals.

So now we are a Brotherhood still but a Brotherhood of Dragons, we still are Northwind but Dragons as opposed to Highlanders. Our traditions and ways are welcomed as well as respected among our new clan mates, our fighting styles and level averages compliment each other rather well. Both groups had a solid reputation and fighting track record on their own, it will be exciting and interesting to see what this combination can do in future wars.

Oh yeah, and we got a fancy new clan insignia as well....

Circuit Fight Update by David McCallum : #701548

Following on from Sgt Ron's article the other day, there have been more updates to the circuit fight rules, a lot of them after what appears to have been reasoned comments from the community.

The first addition was a new quest:

Win 4 Circuit Medals from Dec 27 thru Jan 25
Reward 30 Niodes.

Ah, there's nothing like a Niode reward to get folk crawling out of the woodwork. Don't think I can recall the circuits being so competitive.

Next up, the XP gain on losses has been removed. Can't agree more, you don't gain XP for a loss anywhere else.

The system for Niode rewards has also had a shake up. There are still a possible 4 up for grabs.

You gain 1 Niode on entry.
You gain 1 additional Niode after winning 2 battles.
You gain 1 additional Niode after winning 8 battles.
You gain 1 additional Niode after winning 22 battles.

So for the lazy slugabeds, an entry niode is back, not the 2 we had for so long. Fair enough say I. Its a reasonable compromise for those who want to camp vs those who want to be competitive. Also note that in line with the removal of gained XP for a loss, you now need actual wins (rather than just attacks) in order to get the other tiers of Niode reward.

The last change, and this is an absolute stoater for free players, Crystal rewards have gone from double to triple the XP gained for a win.

Now that is a game changer, and I'm not certain if it's good, bad or indifferent. You see, I am certainly aware of players who are leveling nicely, but perhaps a little faster than they may like. The reason they wish to level slow is due to maintaining a Niode income in line with their needs to be able to level and then equip both existing and new mechs.

By the same token, they are choked of crystal income and need to hit circuit fights to not only level their Crystal mechs but also to convert over to Bioptics/Ferrite because leveling takes its toll on those as well. Let's face it, people just don't farm like they used to.

But now, is there going to be any need to farm at all? I'll be honest, I have gotten out of the habit. To be honest this is mainly due to being able to use prizes or hand-me-downs to equip new mechs and I level fairly infrequently. The 40 a day plus a few seeds serves me fine. But those seeds can account for up to 50 Crystal a day (not that I've had that amount in ages mind you...) but even loosing the 1 or 2 seeds is the loss of a few hundred crystal a month.

With no XP at all.

I guess we'll have to see if there are any farmers left in a few weeks time.

New Circuit Battle Rules and Rewards by Sgt Ron Frye #879655

Go check out the battle circuits. Chef just put one up and he has changed it up again. Now, if you place Gold, Silver or Bronze, you get prizes in addition to the crystal earned in the battles themselves. Still a major XP fest, but now he has made it far more valuable. Open to players level 10 and up.

Entering a Circuit pays you 10 Crystal on entry.

Winning Circuit Fights pays crystal equal to double the energy spent.

All Circuit Fights (win or lose) pay XP equal to the energy spent.

You gain 1 Niode on after your 5th and your 15th battle (win or lose).

You gain 1 additional Niode after winning 7 battles.

You gain 1 additional Niode after winning 22 battles.

Up to 4 Niodes per Circuit.

To pass someone in rank, you must win more fights than them.
Ties go to whoever got the wins first

If 2 players both have 5 wins, the player who got 5 wins FIRST is ranked higher.

GOLD PRIZE:

Free 2X Upgrade Kit +
90
104
Amnesia Torpedo
COMMON
Amnesia Torpedo
3X Damage 7%
The ultimate in fire-and-forget missile technology. Direct hits are devastating.

SILVER PRIZE:

86
104
Phyrenado
COMMON
Phyrenado
Burn 12%
Uses local airflow to create wind and turns it into a spinning vortex of flame.

BRONZE PRIZE:

81
104
Incinerator
COMMON
Incinerator
Splash 12%
Equipped with a nozzle that sprays boiling oil to damage additional attackers.

....so.....in summary.....10 crystal if you enter.......loads of crystal if you fight, but xp too.....up to four niodes for playing.....a highest end crystal weapon for gold, silver or bronze.....and a x2 upgrade kit for first place.

Also, there is now a divisional level spread, offering us the opportunity to not only test formations against equally powered opponents, but actually paying us for the effort we would be expending on ordinary side battles anyway.

A big improvement. What do you think? Post your input!

Revenge of the Fat Jolly Git by David McCallum : #701548

One of these days, we will actually finish off an enemy bent on Galactic domination.

It really is bad form the way we just give them a good kicking, then they slink away only to come and annoy us at the most inopportune moment.

Still, its not as if we were hoping for a holiday or anything like that. Just because we've set the Unification forces in retreat, doesn't mean we aren't ready to leap reindeer like to everyone's defence... again.

Yes, it's around that time when old 'Red 'n' Tubby is showing his fluffy face... I wonder what he's after this time, apart from making himself a right royal pain in the posterior?

Still, the Military is on to it, and any pilot who wants a head start in getting to a readiness state can partake of some wargames to see how they are going to fare.

General Nova’s EVIL SANTA XMAS CHALLENGE

Evil Santa and his minions have recently been sighted in several locations around the galaxy. Pilots in the area have reported hearing strange songs playing over the comms and galactic authorities are investigating these tunes to see if they contain any malicious system viruses, but have so far found them to be benign.

Many pilots believe that it is likely that Evil Santa will attempt another conquest of our galaxy soon. Evil Santa has a history of causing trouble wherever he goes.

During Evil Santa's last attempt, Gen. Nova managed to get his hands on a few of the mecha left behind. He has decided to host a Xmas Challenge to assist the Mercenary Clans with preparations to fight Evil Santa.

All pilots now have a chance to test their strength against a few of the mecha Evil Santa is known to use. To take advantage of this opportunity, deploy a single line of your best mecha against Evil Santa’s mechs. For an extra challenge, use less than your maximum tonnage and prove that you are an elite warrior.

Single Line Lowest Tonnage:

Level 32-61
Level 62-99
Level 100-129
Level 130-158
Level 159-199
Level 200+

Single Line Lowest Level:
Level 32-61
Level 62-99
Level 100-129
Level 130-158
Level 159-199
Level 200+

Lowest Level (Up to 350 tons) Level 1-31
Lowest Tonnage (Unlimited Formation) Level 1-31

RULES TO PARTICIPATE: Attack General Nova and then copy the permalink from your battle feed for the battle that you want to submit. All pilots level 32 and above must use a single line of mecha to attack. Please note that the single line may be any line in your base, as long as all your mecha are in one (vertical) line. It does NOT have to be your front line.

General Nova will accept only one (1) entry per player. Your entry will be considered in BOTH categories (Lowest Level and Lowest Tonnage) for your level group listed above.

Please be sure that your entry is the one you want to use before you submit it to General Nova. If multiple entries are sent in, only the first will be counted. Spamming General Nova may be considered grounds for disqualification.

This event will run from server reset (00:00) on 12/10 to the end of the day on 12/12 (23:59).

TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY: Message General Nova through his profile (using in-game mail) and include the permalink for your submission in the message. Please state your level at the time of the battle in the message subject line.

PRIZES: The Lowest Level pilot and Lowest Tonnage formation in each grouping to defeat the challenge will be named the winner for that group and will receive the prize listed. Only one prize will be awarded per player.
In the case of a tie, the entry submitted first will win. A higher mech count will also be used as a tie breaker (Ex: 4 Ogguns will win against 2 Reapers.)

Winners will receive a free weapon:
Level 32-61 (H. Blast Plate)
Level 62-99 (Glace)
Level 100-129 (Silencer)
Level 130-158 (Sniper Rack)
Level 159-199 (Phyrenado)
Level 200+ (Leviathan)
Lowest Level (Up to 350 tons) Level 1-31 (Res Laser)
Lowest Tonnage (Unlimited) Level 1-31 (Ol' Willie Pete)

So, we may as well start getting into the spirit of mass destruction (either by firepower or alcohol)... looks like us pilots have another grind ahead of us.

We Need Your Submissions By Pat Willis#224534

Hello folks, yes I know I've covered this issue before in no small detail. However the fact remains this is a player fueled and run site. As such we need more players chiming in. A lot of you say well I'm not that great a writer. You don't have to be.

Look writing is pretty simple write how you would talk. So you can't think up a story line for pilot stories. No problem do a review. Probably the simplest thing we have on this site are the reviews. Start off with I like this, or dislike this weapon/equipment piece/mecha because.... and insert your reasons. Before you know it you can have a decent length review written up and ready to submit. We just ask you keep the language PG-13 as this is a more open audience.

Clan lore is another good one. There are many well put together, and groomed clans out there. We want to know more about you all!! Get some clan lore together. What are your rules, do you have them at all? How do you operate, what faction do you support? Who is in charge, who are the grunts, any legendary pilots in your ranks? What is your clans back story, how did you all come together? Memorable battles, wars, raids, or KOTM? Any logos to go with it all?(that last one try to keep it as original and non copy write protected as possible.) Got any rival players, or clans that are a thorn in your clans side?

As if I have to mention it we of course pay out niodes for submissions. Unless all you want to do is hear myself and my editorial staff ramble on day in and day out, or see us have to close up shop for good we need your submissions. Writing isn't too hard, writing an opinion is even easier. Try it, send it to us, lets us be the judge.

Squad Wars 3317 Time Table And Rules

Is Your Clan Ready?

Signups for Clan Wars have begun! A registration button has appeared on each eligible clan's page. A clan must have between 5 and 7 members to participate. A clan is registered for the tournament once at least three members of the clan, including the clan leader, have clicked the button. To fill in divisions during the grace period, devs may register clans where multiple members, not including the leader, have clicked to register.

Head to your Clan Page to find the registration button.

If your clan has less than 5 members, RECRUIT MORE NOW. You have until the end of registration to join.

Before you may register, every player must be at least
50% of the average clan level at signup (average counting all members).

At the moment your clan registers, the clan's average level is recorded.

For division placements (at registraion) The TWO (2) lowest level players in each clan will not count toward average level.

Tournament divisions will be based on clan level at time of registration. After registration, feel free to power level to gain an edge in your division.

Once your clan has registered, your roster will be locked until the end of the tournament. You will not be able to add or remove clan members.

Rules

A clan war lasts from midnight to midnight New York Time (GMT -5).

Between each war in a tournament, there will be an off day.

Clans may not change their membership during a tournament.

A player cannot continue to attack opponents that the player has already defeated twice that day (As normal, you can only defeat a given player twice a day. This is The Beatdown Rule).

Clan fights count on your record as regular fights. (Any attack on a rival clan member during the war will count as part of the war, even from the normal Battle screen).

Defensive wins count as wins for the defender's team, but do not count as wins for the 2X Daily Beatdown Rule.

If a round ends in a tie, that war will be automatically extended for 14 hours of "overtime"

After attacking someone in a clan war, you cannot be attacked in that clan war for 90 seconds
In the final hour of each battle, this will be reduced to 45 seconds.

Before you may register, every player must be at least
50% of the average clan level at signup (average counting all members).

At the moment your clan registers, the clan's average level is recorded.

Tournament brackets, pairings and format will be determined by each clans average level at time of registration. For bracket placement, the lowest level players in each clan will not count toward average level.

If there is a very odd number of clans registered we may add additional clans who registered after the deadline or had less than the minimum number of clicks to enter. Having less than the minimum clicks does not guarantee a clan will not be entered. Any clan who registers before the deadline is guaranteed entry. Devs will do our best to find space for every clan who wants to enter.

Participation in the tournament is at the discretion of the devs, and unsportsmanlike conduct may be grounds for disqualification.

Something Is Brewing Over On Yomi By Pat Willis#224534

So I was over on Yomi yesterday knocking the crap out of the bosses as I got the fights to unlock. I finally get to the "Big Boss", and his wave after wave of henchmen that attack you for simply breathing and being there.

Apparently Doorknob Drochah has gone to ground there and is now that levels mission boss. Honestly he was harder to fight in some of the many raids he has appeared in. But we slugged it out, he sends his troops in, I send in mine. They clash and collide on the field until it is just he and I.

Now I know that he's an upper tier bad guy to a degree, he won't be a pushover, or be packing anything "light" on his mecha. So out of everything in my hanger I grab my Fext, Crossfire and go to town on his prehistoric, reptilian, space neanderthal ass. It was a short fight.

End result instead of picking through the wreckage like any other battlefield after victory, this tells you straight out what is going on. Some kind of energy from that chroniode thing arcs out and hits an upgrade kit. You having just won the battle are present to witness this and also take possession of said upgrade kit. This single lone upgrade kit allows for you to add +20 levels instantly to your mecha with no cost to you in resources.

Yup, you read that right a freebie for +20 levels on whatever needs upgrading in your hanger. I asked around about this, see if it can be had multiple times with repeated run ins with the level boss. So far the answer is yes from everyone I have spoken to. So hit Yomi hard, beat that Drochah into the ground and kick back to relax with a mecha getting +20 levels added for free!

How To Manage Niode Mechas On A Budget By Pat Willis#224534

Editors note - I have seen some on the game page lately bring up the old topic of pay vs free players. So I figured this may be a good article and time to have it re run.

Hello folks, I'm here today to talk you through how to manage a mostly niode army, with weapons and equipment on a budget. This is a subject I know well seeing as the majority of my unlimited load out is niode based. To date I own now 3 Boreas mecha, 4 Anubis, 5 Regis, 2 Ignis, 2 Aspis, 1 Frigis, 1 Dreadnought, 1 Typhoon, 2 Yallan, , 2 Gigus, 1 Magnus, and 1 Antithesis mecha. Those are some expensive mechas to level, equip, and weaponize. Also given niode weapons, as well as equipment are often vastly superior to standard crystal versions, they are not cheap to maintain.

Now knowing the above would you be surprised to learn that I have spent all of $25.00 when I first started playing back in February of 2013 to get a Keradon mecha.? Since that time I haven't honestly spent anything else on the game. Yes I also own two Mecha Galaxy T shirts but those were bought for me not by me. So how do I maintain a niode heavy squad and not pay out for it?

I basically enter just about any KOTM I can, as such I usually place within the top 25, when the event ends usually it is mid level niode weapons handed out as a reward. When those hit I sell them off at the reduced buy back price for what niodes I can. I enter the lotto at least twice a day (although they have upped it to three times a day) and I won that twice since I have been playing. Speaking of the lotto when a clan member wins also you collect 20 niodes for them having won. Being in the Brotherhood we have a good number of players who have won in the past so I have collected my share of those rewards as well. I hit the missions for the fights when I can to get the niodes, but those aren't as reliable as the more you beat them it seems the harder they are to pop for you. I also rip through the boss fights when they do go off and pretty much sell back the prizes from those.

So add to the list above hitting up every war and raid to get mechas and equipment, which can add up fast. As well as having submitted multiple times to name the mecha contests and having won a few, well that really helps out a lot. And lastly this site. Creating it, maintaining it, writing articles like this, and that pays out niodes weekly.

So is it slow going, and kind of tiresome to keep doing all the above just to maintain my squad? I won't lie, yeah it is. Some days it feels like I'll never get my whole line up to the max potential they have. But I keep plugging away at it. I have my own pace, my own goals, and it seems to work for me fairly well as I have only gotten better as I go. So I am not a credit card warrior, I am not a camper, I am an involved player contributing to the game and working at my way. So far it seems to work and I haven't spent anything past the initial $25.00 myself. Just something to consider if you're looking to get ahead in this game but don't have a lot of money to do it with.

Mech Point Academy Banner. By Germán Jaramillo Pulido (ID # 685605)

The banner of the MPA is shown with proud for some of the first trainee units where rookie pilots learn the basics to become some day expert pilots.

The MPA motto: "Proeliis parta sunt, mecha et viribus, sed bella parta caput" means: "Battles are won by means of mechs and strength, but the wars are won by using the head (mind)" expresses the final goal of the academy, to teach the future elite pilots that, some day, will lead and nourish the mercenary clans.

So What Do You Like To Pilot By Pat Willis#224534

In Mecha Galaxy we have plenty of choices for piloting, each with their own unique set of build stats, and abilities. We have 10 Tonners all the way up to 100 Tonners, the trick is finding what works best for you.

To be honest the lowest tonnage mecha I own is a 45 ton Vizi, and it barely sees any action. I suppose what you like to pilot is often determined by what you are facing. As I am in the low 100's level wise my line up is a reflection of what I am facing. I shelved my Vizi, and my line up exploded into a mix of Regis, Boreas, Fext, and others.

My personal favorite will always be my Frigis mecha, Frozen Dream. It's 80 tons of pure fun to pilot. It has enough chassis slots to be a tricky mecha to hit, and decent cockpit and engine slots to fill. It has bonuses to laser as well as ice damage, and has X2 & X3 damage modifiers built in. But you can't pilot the same mecha over and over again without realizing you're getting out classed, and out gunned.

80 tons is respectable no doubt, however put an 80 tonner against say a 95 or 100 tonner and you'll most likely end up a smouldering piece of slag on the floor. So adaptability is key, granted you can save your lower tonnage mechas. Shelve them, and bring them out for weight specific tourneys but let's be realistic here, you simply aren't going to waltz your 10 or 20 ton mecha into combat against a 25 mecha squad of 90s or better. Well you could but it would be a bit suicidal.

Each mecha as I have said has its own unique skill and weapon set. If properly tuned you can make a quick kill death machine, well at least until you get out gunned and out weighed in the arena or on the battle field. So a large part of this is personal play style and choice. Some go for looks, some for abilities, hell others go for a mixture of both. But when you get down to it, what mecha is basically your go to mecha? The one you know even though it may be out classed and a little obsolete you still keep it in tip top shape from the gun ports to the exhaust vents. We all have one, what's yours?

A Message from our Illustrious Leader

Direct from the keyboard of Chef...

An alt purge was just completed, and now THE BAN HAMMER HAS BEEN PUT AWAY. The purge is over. If your accounts are still active as of right now, you should be in the clear, as long as you follow common sense. (More details on that below)

We're actually thrilled that people love to play so much. (Including the majority of you who only play one account!) Thanks for playing in our Galaxy :)

Mecha Galaxy players are allowed to have a few accounts, for example, you may play one account on FB and another on Kong.

Roughly 90% of active players are only actively playing 1-2 accounts, with the vast majority only playing one.

I would rather not spend time on this, and just let everyone play, but I have to respect the wishes of the community.

My goals:
— Serve the wishes of the community
— Encourage new, low level players
— Apply all rules equally and fairly

If the developers, at their sole discretion, identify a player engaged in “alt-abuse” the developers reserve the right to de-activate some, most, or all of the alt accounts.

The final definition of “alt abuse” is at the sole discretion of the devs. In general, the devs do NOT seek to de-activate players. We want you to play!

"A few" is less than “several” which is less than “double digits”

Alt abuse includes:
— Lying to the devs in a private message. (This almost never happens, but it’s the quickest way to get shut down)
— Competing against yourself (especially in clan wars)
— Any clan attempting to enter clan wars without several unique players
— Low level alts “camping” and winning multiple KOTM medals, including silver or bronze. (Low level KOTM divisions are meant for new players. Too many alts taking all the prizes discourages new players from joining.)
— Playing more than several accounts for any reason.

No one should enter more than a few accounts in any given clan war.

"A few" is less than “several” which is less than “double digits”

If you play more than 2 accounts you should be careful to not discourage new players by claiming low level gold/silver/bronze prizes.

If the software thinks you are playing more than 2-3 accounts, your lowest level accounts will be flagged by the software and will be un-able to enter KOTM tournaments lower than division six. Once these level up to join division six, they can join normally.

In this purge that just ended, if any accounts targeted for de-activating by the devs had spent money to buy Niodes in the previous 12 months, the devs transferred triple the number of purchased Niodes to the highest level account controlled by that player. (Strictly at the desecration of the devs, max of several thousand Niodes)

If any clans need leadership transfered, send me a message.
If you think any mistakes were made, send me a message. (But remember rule #1, don’t tell me anything that isn’t 100% true)

The purge is now over. I have been in direct contact with most of the people directly affected, and the response from almost all of them has been very positive.

All rules are enforced equally with everyone.

I’m really thrilled that so many people like my game.
Thanks for playing!

So there you have it.

We know what is expected of us and what will happen in the future.

Lets put this to rest and get back to killing each other, and let's not let the legal eagles loose again...

Dreadwing Menace? News By Pat Willis#224534

This just in…. A squadron of Brotherhood Novum mecha were attacked and destroyed today by a large group of Dreadwings on resource outpost 547D. The official press release from the Brotherhood ambassador states that, “The attack was unprovoked, and further strains relations between Clan resource collection teams with the Dreadwing inhabitants.”

However, security feeds from the outpost show that the Novum squad was unintentionally attacking the Dreadwing nesting colonies, mistaking them for mineral rich deposits high in the mountains due to the nesting materials the creatures use. They apparently were blasting at what they though to be a vein of resources, turns out it was a nesting clutch of Dreadwings. The attack when noticed by the adult Dreadwings was answered by an attack of the animals.

Fierce fighting turned the high mountain passes into a bloodbath as biomecha clashed with native life. The peaks were splashed and scorched by plasma fire, heavy caliber ammunition, and in some cases were outright destroyed by large overcharged laser blasts.

The Dreadwing grouping clustered together to form a flying wall, while concentrating their plasma gout's into a more efficient and destructive beam. Their formation was a simple nine creature lay out but devastating in its effectiveness. It went as follows...

DW1 DW2 DW3
DW4 DW5 DW6
DW7 DW8 DW9

Dreadwings one through three concentrated their fire in and down, four and six concentrated their fire inwards, and seven through nine concentrated their fire up. All lines of fire converging on the central Dreadwing at point five. Then all they did was move in unison to control and aim.

This behavior has never before been documented with these life forms. This newly formed plasma gout quickly took out the remaining Novum mecha in little time.

The Brotherhood sees this as a hostile act of war by the Dreadwing species and has issued a capture or kill order for all members of that race within their territories, citing the "unprovoked" attack by the animals as their reasoning. Faction representatives may be steeping in on this issue to reach a peaceful compromise.

We will keep you updated as events unfold…..

Daily News by David McCallum #701548

Niode Bounty for Kings of the Mountain

And since we are a politically correct news network, that also applies for Queens of the Mountain... or even those like Patrick who can get a bit confused as to which they are, especially when they've had a few.

However as an incentive towards participation and honest competition, the Gamesmasters have announced a bonus bounty of 30 niodes to all pilots who win any flavour of medal as a one off incentive.

Not exactly a freeby since you have to work for it, but certainly a nice little bonus for those who do take to the mountain to fight.

The Big Missile Push

I'm having to keep this copy away from Kenneth, because all he can do is make statements like 'Look at the size of those racks' interspersed with 'Phoar' noises and lots of giggling. The things I have to put up with.

All clans have recieved the following statement regarding a rule change in effect for the next clan war.

CW 3315: MISSILES MORE EXPLOSIVE
Pilots returning from missions in and around the Yomi Gravity Reefs have noticed an odd energy trace in their sensors. These unidentified energy readings appear to be harmless, but mecha technicians are working around the clock to make sure they aren’t damaging any of the mech’s systems.

Prolonged exposure to this energy has resulted in its accumulation  in mecha systems. The only noticeable reaction to this stored energy is Missile systems can lock on to the signature more easily, causing devastating damage. Some pilots are reporting that when their missiles strike a target, the stored energy amplifies the explosive power of the warheads.

**************************************************
During Clan Wars 3315, Missile Weapon Specialists will do an extra 160% damage with missile weapons instead of the standard extra 80% damage boost.

This will ONLY be in effect for missile weapons when a pilot attacks a Missile Specialist.

(Remember: Defender sets the rules)
**************************************************

Possibly related to this are reports of sudden erratic behavior by the Dreadwings. Scientists on Novum who are studying the creatures report they had been acting more docile, until recently. Now the Dreadwings are more nervous and trying to escape their artificial habitats. One researcher compared this new behavior to the behavior of domestic animals just prior to a natural disaster.

Is it possible the Dreadwings can detect this odd energy?

Now it is possible that this turn of events has been triggered by the recent issues around supply and demand in the "T" line of missile systems, and highly suspicious that missile manufacturers are concurrently running a large sale on their wares, but it will be interesting to see how many folks decide to give this much underutilised specialist class a stab.

Reminder... check in twice a day for the latest from the Galaxy Gathering

oh, and

Reminder part 2, weigh in with your opinion on each article in the comments section (inluding your player ID number) and we will give you some niodes for your thoughts!

New Mecha Sighted On Rizpah By Pat Willis#224534

There is a new mecha that has been sighted on the jungle moon Rizpah. Apparently it is much like the other found mechas on Novum. It is a random mission pop up/reward, it also has a basic, "You saw it  but it got away.", mission screen. It looks to be one of the infected type of mecha, although what exactly that is and what it means for the mecha in question are yet to be known.

What we do know is this it is a 30 ton niode mecha, it is a missile boat, level one build stats are - Class: Banshee,  Missile Damage : +4%, Armor: 67, Weapons:4.

Unfortunately at this time that is all the information we have been able to get for this mecha. Well that and the image provided here, rest assured we will keep you updated as more information becomes available. If it is one of the highly valued mission reward mechas basic rules of if the boss is fought or beaten should be in play here and it shouldn't matter. Good luck to all, and as always happy hunting.

MECHA FOR K9S AND WARRIORS

We have some good news to report for a change - The Highlander Force clans are hosting a fundraiser for K9s for Warriors, non-profit organization that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to be service dogs for veterans.

The shelter dogs in K9s for Warriors’ program are matched with caring companions, giving them a “new leash on life.” Veterans are paired with dogs and both receive training. Through this program, we have a chance to improve the lives of both veterans and dogs who have had a tough road and want to start each day with a friend by their side.

All pilots who donate USD$25.00 or more to this fundraiser are eligible to receive a free K9 mecha. See event page for details.
