Leon is a Duelist from Triax. While their standing military may not have Mechs in its ranks, the Triax people have quickly adapted existing Mecha technology through their own tech savvy and with the help of friendly traders.
Leon was a powered infantry trooper credited with crippling a Mech with a well-placed explosive charge on its ankle. Having earned the kill, he was awarded the chance to pilot it. He tested successfully.
Though not the first Triax Duelist through the gate, he is proving to be formidable opponent. All who survive fights with him and learn about his tale have started calling him 'Achilles', and he seems to be living up to the reputation of the ancient Greek hero.
Americo Columbus - "Marco Polo"
Americo Columbus is an advanced scout forever running through unexplored gates to find potential holdings for his clan. He has always managed to return, and has the highest record for exploration. Some have likened him to the best known European explorer to Asia back on old Earth, earning him the monicre "Marco Polo".
Columbus was the one to notice the unused Hermione gate and asked about its history. Seeing the potential for another quick holding to add to his clan, he gathered a force with permission from his clan lord and went through. Though his clan's invasion of Triax was short-lived, he survived and his clan was content to let the world go.
He still keeps an ear to the goings-on regarding the latest clan attempts to crack the Triax nut, usually with great mirth at their ultimate failure. Having learned of the first duelist from Triax, Americo personally challenged and defeated the woman in single combat. However, he has left all others alone.
