Networks Looking For Clan Liaison Personnel

You read that right folks the networks are looking for clan liaison personnel for around clan wars. What that boils down to is a representative for clan families, or for the independents. Someone willing to step up and represent your clan for interviews during Clan Wars. Our very own new editor Joel Parras is on board to represent The Brotherhood for such interviews. Word is we're in talks with Slaughterhouse 5 leadership about this, ANN is at work trying to get representatives on board as well.

Even the Smurfs are reported to be getting in on the action! This leaves many other clans and clan families in need of representation for this endeavor. Behind the scenes there is still talks of how this will work, how many interviews per representative, and which clan to possibly feature or highlight when. But the discussion is happening and we're looking for people to step up.  So do you or your clan want in on this? Simply message any member of whichever network you wish to work with (Us at G.G., Deb, Joel, or myself. Or Moe, Justin or Jamie at ANN) we'll let Molly know you're interested and work it all out! So want to get the trash talk amped during CW? Want to make your clan sound even slicker than it is? This is your chance to shine all! Let one of us know and get in on the action, and the fame.(Yes pay as well but we're still discussing that.)

Quad Rocket Weapon Review

One of the new crystal missile delivery systems we have seen released lately the Quad Rocket looks great for the lower to mid range set of pilots. It has a minimum level requirement of 34, and will cost you 510 Ferrite, 408 Bioptics, as well as 14 Crystal. As always you can bulk buy, this one is 5 for 56 crystal. No limits and no restrictions listed. It has a damage of 36 and a speed of 93 with no bonuses.

It is faster than the Medium, and Large Fury racks which come in at 90 and 85 for speed, as well as faster than the Goliath Rack which has only a 90 speed to it but will do 6 more damage overall. So as far as stats go this weapon isn't that bad for crystal players, and a definite step in the right direction of the ever growing and competitive crystal weapon market.

Magnus Mecha Review

Alright folks it's been awhile since our last mecha review but we have a new one coming at you today, say hello to the new Crystal mecha the Magnus. It weighs in at a very respectable 90 Tons and will set you back 16,500 Ferrite, 11,500 Bioptics and 360 Crystal total. Build bonuses are Missile damage, Projectile Damage, Trample shield, and Splash shield. It does have a level requirement of 79 to it, so be aware. This looks to be the new heavy weight crystal king of the battlefield, also rumor has it that the bonuses become highly beneficial at level 40 and up.

Handed out pre leveled yet again as a division one prize at the last CW it made its way onto the scene causing quite a stir. If it lives up to the hype it will be quite the mecha to beat. So far it looks as though it may just be able to. Although a word to the wise much like the design of the Jadoon leading to fewer shield slots, this design sacrifices chassis and cockpit slots for all of its shielding and firepower. So is it all really worth while? Well if you are one of the prized chosen few of division one then sure it's a free mech. If you have to shell out resources like most the rest of us those abilities better come in pretty high numbers for it to be worth the while. If your play style is slug throwers and missiles then of course this is a no brainer for you. Keep your eyes peeled as these should be seen in larger quantities as people buy in and launch them off to war in the next KOTM, circuit fights, and CW.

New Mecha And Crystal Weapons Released

This week has seen some nice new stuff across the board. For Niode weapons the Hornet's Nest was just released, for Crystal we saw the Dynamo Cannon, Snavrum Laser and Firebolt released. Also we got a new crystal mech called the Magnus which by all accounts is a monster with slug throwers and missile systems coming in at 90  tons. Also the hangers got an upgrade that selects applicable mecha and allows you to level them in a group as opposed to one at a time.

So all these add ons and improvements seem to have many players happy, yet as always with new low end releases the higher levels are saying, "Well what about me?!" Hate to say it but there are many lower levels than there are higher, just look at the battle pages as you progress up the levels. Thin at the top tiers real thick at the lower ones. So to those I say be patient your time will come let them pacify the masses first then they'll most likely get to the few at the upper levels. Besides not like those lower levels can access the new crystal mecha so it's a trade off. Mecha for you, weapons for them. Just be patient your time will come and then they will be the ones asking where their share is.

Interview With Fred Smith Of Clan Spectre

Joel - Hello mech jockeys throughout the galaxy! With me at the moment is Fred Smith#863876 from clan Spectre. Great to have you here Fred.

Fred - Thanks Joel, good to be here.

Joel - It has been a busy month for much of the player base with many missions to complete with Raid & KotM prizes to battle for. It's always great though to get a newer players fresh perspectives. I've got to ask Fred, how have you found your climb through KotM divisions lately?

Fred - Well it hasn't been a whole month for me yet only a few weeks, I started on playing Mecha Galaxy on Nov 9th, but it's been fun so far.

Joel - Good to hear you've enjoyed the ride so far! You've come along way in a few weeks Fred. Well done! It's always good to see new capable & keen players. You know last year we had Evil Santa come & join in for the post Clan Wars raids. Drop pods of fun!

Fred - Sounds good. It was a rough ride so far. I started out thinking Mecha Galaxy was like most other games where gaining levels quickly was the thing to do. Unfortunately I found out the hard way that leveling slowly was a better strategy. Also thanks to some good advice along the way things have improved quite a bit in the past 2 weeks.

Joel - Sometimes the learning curve can be a lot to take on board. Leveling is always a topic of great conjecture throughout the galaxy but each pilot usually respects each others individual choices. Good advice can certainly be worth more than it's weight sometimes! Strong participation & keen, capable players in a clan can really help. So with your added Clan Wars, raid & KotM experience are there any hopes or goals your looking at over December?

Fred - Actually I was hoping for a Gold in the last KOTM (40 tons) but that didn't go too well & I ended up with Silver. A lot of people with decent high end equipment. I'm hoping to be able to strengthen my stable of Mechs before the next Clan War, and maybe get another couple of KOTM medals. Hopefully I get another one that ends at a suitable time.

Joel - Gold can be elusive in lower division sometimes but you did really well earning silver for your first KotM Medal. I agree having a strong, fully leveled & flexible formation of mechs & spares can be essential these days.

End times are always fun for everyone though, I seem to remember a 4am finish for me last week after a long night in the cockpit LOL. I wish you continued luck in your pursuit of gold!

Joel - Is there anything else you'd like to add to advise any other new players?

Fred - Yes, just one last thing, which I also found out the hard way, make sure you have a good supply of Hatorade before the KOTM ends. I only had 1 and with no friends to top me up. Online that is.

Joel - Hatorade is the only way to go when needed for KotM end hours. I know you'll be more than ready next time!

Fred - Thanks you having me, and I hope to see you around in the game.

Joel - I'm always lurking around somewhere in Mecha Galaxy. Thank you so much for sharing your time & opinions with us Fred!

Fred - Thanks Joel, it's been a pleasure

Joel - There you have it folks, fresh perspectives from the front lines where the metal finds the meat & brings home the bacon & silver!

Firebolt Weapon Review

(Common) Damage 35, Speed 100

If you are running low on niodes, this new crystal weapon may fit the bill for your empty spaces. You'll need a minimum level of 37 to buy this weapon. For 16 crystals you'll have the newest fire weapon available and can save crystals and resources buying in bulk. If you want to release the pyro in you, buy a bunch.

Adding this weapon to a mecha that has a fire bonus will get you extra fire power. Decent speed will keep this weapon competitive. It will fill a gap for any not reaching level 43 soon where the next available crystal weapon can be bought. There is no limitations for purchasing so pick them up as needed.

Triple Whammy Elite Laser Weapon Review

54 Damage, 102 Speed Slow (5), 3x Damage 3%

This laser requires a minimum level 19 to purchase. For 31 niodes you too can have the power of three. The Triple Whammy will slow down your opponents while offering you a better than average speed. It's a win, win.

When the 3x damage kicks in, you'll kick your opponent to the curb. The high damage of 54 can be further enhanced placing this on a mecha with a laser bonus. Buying in bulk will save you niodes. Like all special offers, this one will go fast!

Block Charge Equipment review

We have a 0-25 ton engine for you today that costs 113 Ferrite, and 120 Bioptics. That's all no niodes, no crystal just simple straight forward resources. Also it is a simple no frills engine packing a speed of +25 and nothing else.  Given there is less material to the smaller mecha they naturally move faster as is but an additional 25 to speed is crazy especially for a crystal piece of equipment.

If you have the slots for it stack these babies as much as you can, as just two would grant you a speed of +50, beyond that and you can seriously cruise around the battlefield. They always say best way not to get hit is to not be there when the blow lands and this engine will help you get out of the way with speed and style.

New Releases

Well folks new low level crystal weapons have just been released, the ones previewed in these very pages as a matter of fact. They should give a hand up to the lower level pilots looking to advance, and word in the pipeline is that the crystal weapons will be going up the ranks as more are released. So soon we should be seeing mid level weapon releases  which eventually will lead to more high end weapons. As always we will keep you posted on any new sneak previews that come our way.

In other news word from the front lines of raids across the galaxy are the Forerunner troops are once again being pushed back on all fronts by all assembled clans. You would think he would learn by now that he simply can not win against the might of the clans, the factions, or the merc groups at large. But chances are he will be back soon with more troops and more of his never ending ego to plague us once again after the next war. I thought Forerunners were supposed to be super smart, and advanced, this ones actions seem to prove otherwise.

Semi-stable Power Field Equipment Review

This wonderful little gem of an engine is a piece of superb niode craftsmanship. No matter what fuel you choose to burn the Semi-stable Power Field will supply not only the needed torque to keep you up to speed but packs enough power to make a solid impact in an all assault. The engines remarkable electromagnetic containment fields are capable of deploying built up energy in the form of EMP's to freeze your opponents in their tracks as their mechs systems experience cascade failures.

Semi-stable Power Fields are limited for Medium & Heavy mechs from 45-65 tons, costs 240 Ferrite, 285 Bioptics & 40 Niodes. The engine provides a very respectable
Speed +17, Trample 4%, Freeze 9% & Laser Vulnerable 8%.

Many pilots choose to use them in conjunction with Fast Data Switches or Hip Shocks & even Thermal Analyzers to offset any loss in speed while you can also use Sekhmet Seige CPU's or CAL 9000's to increase the trample even higher. A solid component to run on any mech but the best choices are Dreads, Ogguns & Smilodons.
