Just announced late yesterday afternoon, quite a few older weapons are getting a makeover from the art department. So far the responses have been quite positive.

The artist says: "I matched a weapon to mecha that either are current equipped with them as listed in the tech-manual, or at least mecha that might likely use them based on level and/or type proficiency."
