CW3323 Post-War Interview With Abe Yap #698605 By John Ringo #899287

GG: Welcome Abe to The Galaxy Gathering studio. Can I offer you a drink from the wet bar before we get started?

Abe: Yes please, Glenlivet straight.  12 years OK, 18 years better.  Thank you.

GG: We have nothing but the best for our guests. *Pours a large glass Glenlivet 18 year neat and hands the glass and a full bottle for Abe to enjoy later*

GG: For the record what is your name, player ID, clan you fought with this last CW and what medal did you win?

Abe: My name is Abe Yap, just call me Abe.  ID #698605.  I fought for Xeon in Division 9 for Silver in the last war.

GG: Did your team perform like you expected this war?

Abe: Yes, absolutely.  We have fought in several wars together and work well as a team.  We like to plan strategies before each battle, so we know what to expect and possibly who each player can challenge and defeat.

GG: One of my mentors liked to say, "Teamwork makes the Dream work" so it sounds like you guys have it dialed in as a group.

GG: Was there anything you found to be a surprise this war?

Abe: Just that BSB dropped into our division.  Not something we planned for, and they are really tough up and down their ranks.  Hats off to them though.  They earned their gold.

GG: Was there anything you found to be a disappointment this war?

Abe: Not really.  I can only speak for myself.  This war shaped up to be something we expected.  We have great leadership and they plan overall clan member placement to give all of the clans in our family a chance at gold.  This war we were a little short.  Nothing to be disappointed about.

GG: Fair enough.

GG: This war every clan needed a SRB specialist to get in the game. We have had a required spec now for the last two wars. Do you feel this requirement improves or takes away from Clan Wars?

Abe: I think it improves it in the way that it can make CW different.  It can allow those who do not have strong unlimited formations to compete with others through a specialist formation.  For those clans who are super strong it does not affect them too much.

GG: The pilots who ran the required SRB spec this war earned (2) 2X upgrade kits. Does this extra prizing improve Clan Wars and should be continued?

Abe: I think any extra prizes of any type should be continued.  Anything that makes the game more interesting and rewards player with free stuff is good in my opinion.

GG: How hard was the Raid for your team?

Abe: Still slugging through it.  I am sure the hard waves are coming up.  We still have a cap for now.

GG: Well good luck on getting it finished up.

GG: Are the Raid Prizes this war useful for your team or do you just sell most of it for needed Niodes?

Abe: Well sir, that would depend on what people get.  I could definitely use those 85 ton niode mechs at my level for sure.  My raid drop luck is usually horrible, as I still have about a million envelopers from past raids ha ha.

GG: *Grin* I remember as a very young pilot being super excited on winning an Enveloper. It would be a huge help the next raid against a tough frame so I had a special slow formation I would run until I could kill them.

GG: What is your favorite mech that you own and why?

Abe: My favorite is my Antithesis as it is one of the heaviest mechs I own.  I only have one.  The reason I like it so much is not how it performs, but rather that it looks super cool in the battles.  Not a great reason, but hey, everyone plays their own way, right?

GG: You bet *Grin*

GG: What is your favorite thing about Clan Wars?

Abe: I like anticipating the match ups, watching who is making moves to go up or down to whichever level they this is best at getting gold.  The actual participation is better when there are two clans as evenly matched as they can get (just not in D1).  Those are the nail biters and make CW fun.

GG: Yes, I have had more than a few nail-biter fights myself. It gets the blood flowing!

GG: In your opinion, what needs to be fixed to make Clan Wars better?

Abe: Definitely a loaded question.  I could go through MG page and find lots of suggestions.  To be very honest with you I am very happy with my clan.  We win more golds than silvers, and it is very comfortable to know that we will most likely get gold prior to a battle starting.  If it were up to me, I would change the prize structure, and the prizes themselves.  Everybody likes getting good stuff.  It's even better when it is earned after a close, tough battle.

GG: Before we wrap this up is there anything you would like to add?

Abe: Yes, thanks for the interview.  I see these all the time, and have never been selected.  I look forward to the next one!
GG: You are very welcome. I am always happy to interview anyone who wants one every war. I will look forward to talking to you again next war. My best to you and your crew.

Abe: Thanks again
