We have a 0-25 ton engine for you today that costs 113 Ferrite, and 120 Bioptics. That's all no niodes, no crystal just simple straight forward resources. Also it is a simple no frills engine packing a speed of +25 and nothing else. Given there is less material to the smaller mecha they naturally move faster as is but an additional 25 to speed is crazy especially for a crystal piece of equipment.
If you have the slots for it stack these babies as much as you can, as just two would grant you a speed of +50, beyond that and you can seriously cruise around the battlefield. They always say best way not to get hit is to not be there when the blow lands and this engine will help you get out of the way with speed and style.
