One of the more renowned special formations used in Clan
Wars, Faction Wars, and even KotMs is the 20 ton formation. Several big named
pilots have made exceptional use of the Axebot in these to great effect.
However, if you don’t have a stash of Latinum laced Niodes lying about, this
can be a fairly expensive endeavor.
Enter the Shocklite.
Enter the Shocklite.
The Shocklite was designed by Star Factories to primarily be
a mobile missile launcher. Specialized joint actuators in the shoulders and
hips give the Shocklite the ability to fire missiles accurately while on the
run. With the Shocklite, you also get a few extremely handy equipment slots.
You get a cockpit and a shield slot within the first eleven levels so you can
raise your accuracy and fend off a round or two from an opponent, then you also pick up an engine slot at level
18. This engine slot is key to this weight class because it gives you an
initial speed advantage over the tougher Axebot so at lower levels you can get
the drop on them. You can get more cockpit slots going up, and even a chasis
slot at higher levels, but the Shocklite performs best when it and it’s
adversaries are in the mid 30s.
With an additional cockpit slot at Lvl 36, you can add a
Zirconium windshield so that your Shocklites can be more than just a missile
launcher, by giving it an ice and freeze bonus as well. This is a nice
combination as most mechs that you are facing at this level either can’t match
up with the initial speed of the Shocklite, or have problems facing up to ice
weaponry in tandem with the missiles.
At higher levels, you can put some really devastating
missiles onto this rig for great success as it’s missile damage seems to just
keep going up. Many the pilot have found a lone squad of these plucky mechs on
the field, thinking an easy kill, only to find themselves enveloped in a rain
of explosions.
So remember. If you’re short on cash, but in need of some 20
ton assistance, just head down to the dealership and pick up a squad of these
today.
