Well, the big news is there's a war going on.
The even bigger news is we are fighting it for free... no prizes or loot, just bragging rights.
Apparently there were going to be prizes, but our friendly artificial intelligence AM has been masquerading as a Nigerian Prince and has managed to divert the prize funds into her own coffers in order to finance yet another takeover bid of the known universe.
Based out of Vupa 6, it (she?) has managed to take over at least some of the local forces. Whether or not said forces actually realise this remains to be seen, but seeing as how at least some of said inhabitants are banned from drinking (since if they destroy any more brain-cells they will lose their status as an amoeba) and still use belly button fluff as a form of currency, the one thing we are reasonably certain of is that they don't give a monkeys.
The other thing we are also certain of is that Vupa is also a hotbed of activity for scavenging both whole and partial Poryphorus class mechs. Most pilots have been very pleased to be able to score one, even if it is a crystal rather than niode based mecha.
What we can let you in on, and remember, you heard it here first...

Why? Because AM is on Vupa and shes giving away free mechs! Duh!
How do we know its her? Feel free to check out the paint scheme... who else is going to have girly pink mechs?
So why are they in Novum as well? Because at the end of the day, AM is simply a computer virus that has had her post pubescent drama and grown some hooters... but shes still a virus, and they spread.
Hands up how many of you are now looking at your hanger and thinking "but I got one of those..."?
