For the first time in recorded history, one of the large "gaming clans" has signed a contract with one of the major empires of humanity. The Chessmen of the RND gaming clan have chosen to join Kiyomasa, the Prince of Flowers, in his efforts to defeat separatist General Fujiwara and put down the unrest enveloping the Meiji Shogunate.Normally, between the monthly sports tournaments that draw trillions of fans galaxywide, these gaming clans have been defending the Galaxy from external threats in real life and death combat, ranging from maddened armies from the periphery to the rogue computer intelligence Artificial Mind to the mysterious Forerunner threat and his League of Ages. This is the first time that these thousand Mecha armies have decided to involve themselves in major human politics.
There are no formal details yet from these secretive negotiations, but representatives from every Chessman clan, with or without the formal RND association, were reported to be seen in a series of meetings with high diplomats of Prince Kiyomasa earlier today.
