This new engine in the 70-80 ton range is an interesting addition for the Heavy/BFM mechas.
To put it in layman terms, it sends impulses to the movement actuators before the last impulse is fully finished. This gives a smoother movement without the slight pauses you normally can expect in the heavier Mechas.
As for utility, at 70 ton you have the pebble bed reactor with higher speed and without drawbacks at a lower price. The closest competitor for 75 and 80 ton frames is the max torque. While this engine at slightly lower cost don't have any obvious drawbacks, it have a 1/6th lower speed.
Now, a cumulative 4% laser and 5% projectile vulnerability can be dangerous, but with good shielding and the higher speed to let you get the shots a bit faster off it might be well worth the cost of 760 ferrite, 698 bioptics and 58 Crystals.
